Congratulations Streakers!
We did it and we took the 31 days of caching to 32 days of caching! We defiantly added to the amazing 26,228 geocachers that found a geocache each day in August. That’s 10 times the number from August of 2012. Way to go…We hid 31 small or larger caches in mainly urban settings and all 31 were found by 48 cachers. Some other fun stats….
The Streakers Ball was great and fantastic turn out including cachers from Pennsylvania , Minnesota and a reviewer from Canada. The first group includes most of the cachers that earned the Streakers Award…The Second group is all attendees-minus one…taking the photo.
We loved how the shirts turned out and if you notice the breast cancer ribbions on the attendees, they are in honor of one of Utah’s best cacher and her battle with breast cancer, We love you Mom the Cook & cashnhubby…we are on your side!
We had great food, friends and laughs…once everyone arrived we passed out gift bags with magnets, pens, pathtags from Extagz, skull rings and breast cancer ribbons. Everyone then signed the log book…
They also signed a card for Mom the Cook as well as picked up tickets for the raffle. Everyone enjoyed some pizza buffet and conversation. Then the Streaker Awards.
We then passed out some awards for some of the memorable moments of the 31 days. We had candy that matched the award:
Monopoly of FTF’s-TNTSNOW Sweethearts-Cachingma-logs always said how sweet she was when other cachers met her on the trail, Sweethearts-Tuxxj-giving the most favorite points, Crunch-Tie to Tweet and Trigerpuller for finding the most caches in one day crunching it, 28!Bottlecaps-to Bottlecapp for capping off the best logs, CSI awards to G&CLost’N’Found, Mzblubrd & Ryskephr, Good & Plenty-Halocure for good and plenty pictures on cache pages, Lucky Caching stones to The Simpson’s for being lucky enough to get one FTF, a feather duster to GladaGeos for most Second to finds. A Candy Hammer to Parker for being youngest kid to get a FTF in the series in Spiderman PJ’s. Glidermike & Twodognite received Starburts for Bursting to every cache. peakbagginggeo got award for not letting anything stop his streak. There were a few others but the crowd pleaser was the awards to Railroader921 & Gotwings….they were both stung by wasps getting day 21 so they were awarded with some wasp deterrent tools…
After awards we had an exciting contest…invited 6 volunteers to participate and the race was on. Each participant had to open, sign and reclose a Mr. Magnito….it was a close competition but TUXJJ “Light it up” and won some candles.
We had a great raffle and Railroder921 & TJC852 kept winning…however the most coveted Lackey coin was won by KA7EII’s wife. Below are some other event pictures…a special Thanks to Halocure for the amazing pictures.
Sorry for the delay on getting the event on the blog in a timley manner, we took a rest and then went to Mega Earth Event in St. George…we are back and well rested.
There is still time to get in on the path tag sale from Extagz.com. Remember they are offering 100 tags for $79 for Livelovecache.com readers. Make sure you let them know you’re a reader.
Happy Caching….we had a ball….too much of a ball for some….
Thanks again for reading….we will be catching up on some fun things we had to put off until after the 31 days of caching, including some holy sweet caches, trip to Groundspeak, Mega Earth Event…and so much more.
