KTP Ink & Dirtbag shirts…

dirtshirtktp
K.T.P. ink. hooked us up. Mike (pictured above on right) and his crew went above and beyond the call of screen print duty when it came to producing our Dirtbag Geocaching Society Shirts.
At first the order was supposed to be white ink on a couple of black shirts, then we decided we needed some variety…so our order changed to White and Black ink shirts, from kids sizes to 5xl and on 13 different color shirts. WE LOVE THEM….dirtshirtdirtvariety

We are lucky enough to personally know Mike. He started K.T.P. ink 2 years ago and it has grown, he does shirts for models, bands, school groups, fantasy football leagues and now the best society ever…the Dirtbag Geocaching Society. Mike’s prices are way below anyone else and now that we have the screen, ordering from here on out will be fast and easy…or I should say faster and easier.
Now that we have all of these shirts we just need the right members. We have a few prospects…still not a strong chapter. We are looking for a few EXCELLENT men and women.

The Streaker’s Ball-GC4JE4V-Day 32

Congratulations Streakers!
We did it and we took the 31 days of caching to 32 days of caching! We defiantly added to the amazing 26,228 geocachers that found a geocache each day in August. That’s 10 times the number from August of 2012. Way to go…We hid 31 small or larger caches in mainly urban settings and all 31 were found by  48 cachers. Some other fun stats….

The Streakers Ball was great and fantastic turn out including cachers from Pennsylvania , Minnesota and a reviewer from Canada. The first group includes most of the cachers that earned the Streakers Award…The Second group is all attendees-minus one…taking the photo. OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAOLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA
We loved how the shirts turned out and if you notice the breast cancer ribbions on the attendees, they are in honor of one of Utah’s best cacher and her battle with breast cancer, We love you Mom the Cook & cashnhubby…we are on your side!

We had great food, friends and laughs…once everyone arrived we passed out gift bags with magnets, pens, pathtags from Extagz, skull rings and breast cancer ribbons. Everyone then signed the log book…

They also signed a card for Mom the Cook as well as picked up tickets for the raffle. Everyone enjoyed some pizza buffet and conversation. Then the Streaker Awards.

We then passed out some awards for some of the memorable moments of the 31 days. We had candy that matched the award:
Monopoly of FTF’s-TNTSNOW Sweethearts-Cachingma-logs always said how sweet she was when other cachers met her on the trail, Sweethearts-Tuxxj-giving the most favorite points, Crunch-Tie to Tweet and Trigerpuller for finding the most caches in one day crunching it, 28!Bottlecaps-to Bottlecapp for capping off the best logs, CSI awards to G&CLost’N’Found, Mzblubrd & Ryskephr, Good & Plenty-Halocure for good and plenty pictures on cache pages, Lucky Caching stones to The Simpson’s for being lucky enough to get one FTF, a feather duster to GladaGeos for most Second to finds. A Candy Hammer to Parker for being youngest kid to get a FTF in the series in Spiderman PJ’s. Glidermike & Twodognite received Starburts for Bursting to every cache. peakbagginggeo got award for not letting anything stop his streak. There were a few others but the crowd pleaser was the awards to Railroader921 & Gotwings….they were both stung by wasps getting day 21 so they were awarded with some wasp deterrent tools…

After awards we had an exciting contest…invited 6 volunteers to participate and the race was on. Each participant had to open, sign and reclose a Mr. Magnito….it was a close competition but TUXJJ “Light it up” and won some candles.
We had a great raffle and Railroder921 & TJC852 kept winning…however the most coveted Lackey coin was won by KA7EII’s wife. Below are some other event pictures…a special Thanks to Halocure for the amazing pictures. OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA
Sorry for the delay on getting the event on the blog in a timley manner, we took a rest and then went to Mega Earth Event in St. George…we are back and well rested.
There is still time to get in on the path tag sale from Extagz.com. Remember they are offering 100 tags for $79 for Livelovecache.com readers. exMake sure you let them know you’re a reader.

Happy Caching….we had a ball….too much of a ball for some….streakers
Thanks again for reading….we will be catching up on some fun things we had to put off until after the 31 days of caching, including some holy sweet caches, trip to Groundspeak, Mega Earth Event…and so much more.

Day 18 & 19 and Unveiling of SL UT DGS LOGO

31-Days-Calendar-Image31-Days-Calendar-Image

We have earned all of the souviners to date. Yes even 18 & 19. Sorry for the delay on 18, we decided to go to Wendover Nevada on the 18th, explaining the delay…so bonus day you get two posts in one, plus the unveiling of the SL UT DGS Logo. The logo is my favorite part so it will be at the end of the post, saving the best for last.
Day 18…Oh what an amazing day! We started out in Farmington Utah trying to go to Lagoon (amusement park) but the line of cars to get in scared us off, so naturally we hopped the fun bus and hit Wendover, Nevada.
Our day 18 hide was published before we left, DAY 18 CSI#13 Two Heads are Better than One and Pip-Boy3000 was the first CSI on location congrats FTF.  This one was a blast to hide, except for digging the hole for the sprinkler box and heads to fit in…digging holes is hard work. We resurrected the L & L Killer from our CSI series for this one. Since the case was never closed it sparked the CSI’s to move in on the clues and try and catch that L& L Killer! This one was tricky for some, we hid the log book inside one of the heads so once you find the cache you have to find the log book. day18.1day18.3day18.4
day18.2day18.7day18.9
The swag included black roses with a note from the L & L killer, eyeballs and flies. Above is Geominer having fun with the cache.
For our find on the 18th Balkamper13 convinced me to leave the casino and walk to the “Liquor Store” with him. The Liquor store was half way to the cache he wanted to get and after a drink or three, we were off. Balkamper13 said it was 300 feet from store when it was really a mile or two, I stopped keeping track. We found victory highway and more by one of our favorite cachers, Dumbledore's Army 2006. Luckily for us the last cacher to find this was thomfre from Karmøy, Norway. He left a geocaching trading card and cool personalized bottle cap. We were thrilled it was worth a walk in the desert away from the cool casino for this one!
We made it back after almost missing the fun bus and this leads us to 19. This was a funny one, once our caching friends saw our post about being in Wendover they were worried we would hide day 19 there. Read the cache page for Day 19 CAN you say WENDOVER? We thought we would make them panic a bit. day19Tntsnow canned this one first and then there was a rush of cachers kind of like a mini event at GZ. The logs are great reading about the meetings. Also wanted to say thanks for the cute swag Tntsnow has been leaving,day19.2
This was not our best cache but the logs on this one are some of my favorites! It was a mini trash can we placed in West Jordan, way closer than Wendover Nevada! day19.1Jenna889 with the cache.
Our find for the day was a really fun one. It was called An Undercover Cache by xjamminx. It was a 3 difficulty and took us a bit of time to locate we walked by it several times! I loved it. Favorite point for sure! I am not posting the front...if your curious go find it...it's a fun one!

OK….drum roll…the moment we have all been waiting for. We are getting so official, we have a logo for the SL UT DGS chapter thanks to the talented and super patient STRIZA.  ……………and the logo is…

slutdgslglogo

Oh yes! We are already slapping this logo on anything and everything we can. You will be seeing a lot more of it. Thanks again Striza your amazing!
Happy Streaking. We are so close to the finish line, oh and Striza hooked us up with the logo for the Streaker's Ball. Don’t forget to plan on being there. Even if you didn’t get all 31 of our caches, it’s ok there will be $5 pizza buffet and half price game cards @ All Star Bowling, (the old Planet Play) If you are going to be there mark a will attend on the cache page…need to plan! Happy Streaking!
