Day 2 & GC4HPZR…

2
Wonder what I will be when I grow up is out and ready to be found. We hid a Wonder Bread container near an Academy. We love how the school is nurturing the minds of our future generation of geocachers. This is another easy find, we are taking it easy on everyone with the first few hides. We asked the cachers to include their childhood thoughts on what they wanted to be when they grew up. I can’t wait to find out what a few of my favorite cachers wanted to be. I have a couple good guesses on a few! Supertbone Claimed the FTF in lightning speeds. He didn’t mention what he wanted to be when he was a kid…so I am guessing for him, COWBOY TBONE!

day2
Youth in Asia by snownomi was my souvenir cache for the day, when Balkamper13 gets home we are going to go get him a different cache because he’s already found this. We hope everyone has made it to day 2. We have had a few people commit to finding all 31 caches so far we haven’t had the same cacher find both, so not a lot of progress on the Streaker Award to report!
Happy Streaking!

Day 1…FTF & GC4HMBG

    day1
Hello fellow die hard cachers. I hope everyone enjoyed their first souvenir today. We started the challenge out on the right foot with a FTF….that was the only good thing about the cache we went for, it was called Crap Cache. It lived up to it’s name. It seriously was an Altoid type tin with a torn piece of lined paper crumpled up (log). I should have known better when the cache page warned:
Have you ever found a cache that looks like it has been made in 3 seconds. Well this is one of those caches. Got container, slapped in a log and called it good.” – YES THAT JUST HAPPENED!
OK enough with our find, let’s talk about our first hide. It was published without a hitch. We have awesome publishers in Utah. It is called Day 1 of 31 Cache til you Drop This cache was found quickly as a co-FTF by Waambat & daphm. We will keep you posted on the rest. We will post pics of the better hides and those in the running for the Streaker Award.

We have a few helpful hints to keep your Streak alive:
1. Have a cup of coffee (the above size) everyday.
2. Cache with friends. Cacheabating is not as fun as caching with friends.
3. Save the hides closest to your GZ (Home) for those days you just don’t have the time or ambition to get your daily cache. I know we have lots of micros in our area we haven’t found.
4. Cache at 11:50ish P.M. and then head to next at Midnight. Get two caches in one trip and eliminate two days at once.
5. Plan a reward for your final cache. Pick a cache off your bucket list of caches for your final find.  Or throw yourself a party, goto a nice dinner or buy yourself a prize. Reward yourself. A great way to do this is to find all 31 of our caches published each day of the 31 days of caching in August. You will get a Streaker Award: Shiny new T-shirt.
6. BRAG….tell others about your goal. If you share your goal you are more likely to reach it because you don’t want to tell others you quit.
Oh and one more thing, we tried to upload a video for the 31 Days of Geocaching in 31 Seconds video and found out you have to film your video in Instagram. You can’t upload a video from any other source. So film your finds in Instagram if you are planning on submitting any videos for the 31 Seconds video.
We hope this has inspired you to cache on. Have a great August.

31 days of Geocaching & HIDING

31-Days-Calendar-Image
Many of you are already gearing up for a find a day in August 2013. We are ready and plan on collecting all 31 souvenirs. To help cachers in our area we are going to hide one cache a day to help you meet your goal. This hide a day is also the kick off of the entrance of the Dirtbag Geocaching Society into SL UT. streak      The Streaker Award. We are also adding a bit of a challenge to those close enough to find our contribution to a cache a day in August, 2013. The cacher/cachers that have found the most number of the 31 hides will be rewarded with a special Streaker Award. It will be a DGS or Livelovecache.com shirt. So technically we will be awarding as many t-shirts as needed. If we have 10 cachers that find all 31 then we will award 10 shirts. It’s that easy. Rumor has it the Longitude & Latitude killer might contribute to the hides as well.      So set your alerts and get ready to find all 31 of our hides!       You can also be a part of 31 Days of Geocaching  by submitting videos of your finds for a 1 second at a time video Geocaching.com is making. They are creating a video, 31 Days of Geocaching in 31 Seconds. Follow Geocaching on Instagram,
Use Instagram to document your geocaching moments in August.
Each day you document, "tag" them in your video post using
‪#‎gogeocaching‬ - you can post 15 seconds a day.
Contents submitted each day will be reviewed and they will choose the best second to represent that day.
Throughout the month they will post "sneak previews" like: "The first 9 seconds of 31 days of Geocaching"
At the end of the month, they will release the final video with all 31 seconds from 31 days.
Don’t forget to log your “Will Attend” to 31 Days of Geocaching on Facebook. Get ready to streak for 31 days/souvenirs. Happy Caching!

Happy Independence Day

castle1

July 4th is not one of the holidays we go all out for but after this year I think we will. My siblings and I usually have some sort of contest every holiday. We never really did anything for the 4th of July until this year. Our contest rules were simple, build a castle and bring it to the most epic (firework) tank battle of all time.

After getting over 100 tanks, 24 paratroopers, 2 assault vehicles and $200.00 more fireworks, the epic battle was on. We set up the four castles and tanks around the castles and began the war.

The battle went on and on…we had 3 castles catch on fire. We still haven’t awarded the trophy because we couldn’t decide. Our Castle was Castle Cache and had lights and we made it from foam coolers. We all had a blast. We know this was not cache related but it was so much fun we had to share. We also wanted to wish you all a Happy 4th of July. Oh and if you light fireworks from a castle they are better. We hope you had the best 4th ever. We have been catching up on local caches so will have some fun new Holy Sweet Caches for you soon.castle6
